Travel Dates

Tickets are bought! We now have dates! We will meet Clara Mei Lin on March 25! We fly to Toronto on March 21st and spend the night at Shawn and LeHoa's. This is also Caleb's 5th birthday!! On March 22nd we will be flying to Beijing and arriving there on March 23rd. March 22nd is Caleb's Gotcha Day (the day we got Caleb! We will spend one day there getting over jet lag and getting used to being in China. The next day on the 25th we fly to Hubei and to the capital city Wuhan.

                                             

 

 

 

Two Months!!

Hard to believe but in two months we will be family of four!

We  got our dates and are just waiting to book tickets.  We will fly to Toronto on March 21 (Caleb's Birthday) He is quite excited to have his birthday at Uncle Shawn's and Aunt LeHoa's. On March 22 (Caleb's Gotcha Day) we fly to Beijing will get there on the 23rd. Yep that's the next day. We will have one day to adjust to the time difference and than on the 25th we will fly to Hubei.

On the 25th Clara will be ours!

Our Second Journey Begins

Hi well I am guessing there are a few of you out there checking this blog. I am going to try and update on a more regular basis. Plans are starting to speed up! We are finalizing travel dates this week!

Caleb is still not very excited about his sister arriving but he has been sorting through his toys and saying I can give soe to her. So maybe he is starting to accept it.

This week we sent a care package to Clara with an agency from China and USA. We chose what package we wanted to give her and were able to write her and her foster parents a letter. We sent her pyjamas, blanket, doll, instant camera-hopefully we will get this back full of pictures of her,candy and a photo album with pictures of us.

Before sending the package Ann asks the foster family if they want to update us on anything or send pictures. Well on Wednesday we got the best suprise! Three new pictures of Clara!

She received out package on Thursday!

A sister for Caleb!

Well, on November 29th, we got THE CALL! We found out we got a referral for a little girl. She is
2 1/2 years old. She is living in Huangmei County which is in the province of Hubei. Her name is Mei LinQin. (Mei would be her last name) She is currently living in foster care and has been there since she was an infant.

Caleb was from Guandong which is more southern.

Right now it looks like we will be travelling in March, but that is not definite. I can't belive how lucky we are to get to go us this amazing journey of a lifetime twice!!!

Hey there, not sure if any one checks this anymore except maybe Mom, but I had a few minutes so thought I would update. Caleb is doing great and is now in pre-school. I cannot believe that next year he will be in grade primary. Not sure how I will handle it! He loves going to daycare. He is finished all of his surgeries and may need to go to the IWK every year or so for a check-up. He has been going to speech but he is now almost caught up to where he should be for his age so that should be finishing up soon.

So we are not 5th on the list to adopt our daughter. Exciting! Not sure when this will happen it could be next week or sometime next year. Once we get our referral it will be another 2-3 months before travel. Just can't believe we are lucky enough to do this all over again!

Once we get our referral I will be sure to post on a more regular basis.

Wow I have been really awful with my posting but things have gotten crazy busy! In one month we will be moving into our new house! So excited. In October I will be graduating with my masters from Acadia. Can't wait to be done. Caleb is doing great. Today we got him a two wheeler bike, he is getting so big! On to our adoption news. We are now DTC which in adoption world that means our dossier has been recived by China. We are now officially waiting. I am guessing that we will get our referral in the next 6 months or so. Can't quite believe it yet!  Next post I promise to put a few pictures.

Well we are one step closer on our second journry to China. We received provincial approval of our homestudy. That letter has been sent off to our agency and thatmeans we are officially waiting for our referral. It is still a long way off as we now have to submit paperwork to China.

Caleb has the date for his second surgery. It will be done on February 15th. It shouldn`t be as long as his first one becausethere is only a small hole in his palate. We are looking forward to getting this behind us. This should be his last sugery. yaaaa!
