Hi, Just getting ready to head to the Summer Palace and then we have the afternoon free. We are thinking about heading to the pool!  Everyone is doing great! Clara and Caleb are playing together more and both seem very happy.

Back in Beijing!

Well we made it back to Beijing. After a long wait in the airport and a delay with our flight and another delay after boarding we made it here at about 12:30 am last night. But the good new is both Caleb and Clara slept the whole flight. Clara fell asleep before we boarded and after we landed! Many other families did not get home till after 3 am so really we did good.

Today we completed a bit more paper work for Clara's Citizenship and then we thought we would venture out to the market. Caleb was in his glory as there was one whole floor dedicated to toys! We had fun bartering for a cheaper price. Much to Clara's dismay we bought a stroller but this girl weigh's a ton and when she is walking she likes to run. Just to dangerous around here. But she also got a doll! We then crossed the street and went to the grocery store for some much needed supplies like chips, cookies, banana's.
A visit to the grocery store and market is like an experience like no other. It is  no small feat with all of the sights, sounds and of course smells.

After relaxing in our room for a bit we headed out for supper. Lets just say it was no boring with so many new little people at the table!  It was fun to watch Clara work her chopsticks, she was the best at the table.

Both kids are doing great. Caleb and Clara played with each other a bit today, it was nice to see.

Clara continues to amaze us with how well she is doing. She is warming up to her Daddy and even dressed him up as a princess with earrings and a tiara..sad to say the camera was being charged so no picture.  She also is finding out how great her grandparents are and even gave her Grammie a pedicure!

Everyone one is asleep including Bernie, just going to hide the Easter eggs. Tomorrow is the Great Wall!

Goodbye Wuhan

Hi everyone, it has been a busy few days with lots of sightseeing and getting to know Clara. Yesterday we went to the yellow crane pavilion. It was a beautiful place with a great view of the city.  We are all doing well and are looking forward to heading back to Beijing tonight.

Clara continues to bond well with me and sometimes tolerates her Daddy. But I am sure in know time she will be daddies little girl!  She is a busy little girl who knows exactly what she wants and lets us know it! I am sure we will have lots of fun together. I got to give her a bath tonight and she loved it! Caleb is doing well and is adjusting to having a new little person in the family.

Tonight at 8pm we fly back to Beijing. It is a two hour flight, we are crossing our fingers that both do well on the flight. Wish us luck!



Hi, it is Wednesday night 8:30pm. Just watching Bernie and Caleb giggling and Clara sound asleep in bed.  Thank goodness for king beds as we are all sleeping together.. all we need is Ripley!
We all had a great sleep last night and we had an even better day!

This morning we went to the Hubei Provincial Museum. We saw items from digs and the Ming dynasty that were over 2000 years old. Caleb and Bernie had a fan club and got many stares and whispers from people. This is just beginning as we will get a lot more when we travel in a group.

After that we went back to the hotel for lunch and than headed out to a park. Caleb and Clara had a great time at the playground. It was so great to see them playing together and having fun.

We came back and chilled out in out hotel rooms and than went for supper. These days we are just eating in the hotel restaurant as they have a few western options. Clara and I had to leave early as we were told to keep her quiet, of course as most three year olds do she wasn't going to listen. This girl has spunk!

She is doing great today and is really beginning the bonding process with me. She will follow me where ever I go and I am the only one she will let pick her up. She even let me change her clothes and give her a bit of a wash. Big signs that things are going well. Of course she still has many moments where she gets really quiet and withdrawn, but the happy moments are happening more often. Her pictures did not due her justice she is a beautiful girl, just as handsome as her big brother!

It's Official

Hi Everyone, loved reading all of your comments thanks. It is nice to know that everyone is there behind us following along!

We had a rough night last night with both Clara and Caleb waking up quite upset.  But today was a new day and Clara was showing some of her wonderful personality! She has the best laugh! She has made so much progress in just 24 days. She is calling everyone by their name especially Mama and Baba. She is looks to be held and is interacting with all of us.

You may notice that she is wearing the same thing, but she does not quite trust us enough to change her clothes. Afterall right now that is all she has from her home.

Today we went and signed all of the paperwork to make it official. When  that was all done we went shopping at the Carrefour (like Walmart) and Caleb got a dancing bus and Clara got a princess set. She asked the whole walk home where her toy was.

It is great having our guide here as she translates what Clara is saying and that is a lot.

Mom and Dad are doing well.. It think we are all looking forward to going to Bejing where there will be other families with us and more food options.

Tomorrow we are going sight seeing.
